CIRCUIT LEADERSHIP TEAM

Brief: To oversee the implementation of the decisions of the Circuit Meeting and to enable the Circuit to move forward in mission and ministry.

Constitution: Circuit ministers; circuit stewards.

CIRCUIT STRATEGY GROUP / THINK TANK

Brief: To undertake specific pieces of work on behalf of and directed by the Circuit Meeting as and when necessary.

Current constitution: Superintendent minister; a circuit minister; Two Circuit stewards. Local reps covering LEP, small church & other relevant concerns.

FINANCE MEETING

Brief: To co-ordinate local and circuit finances to enable appropriate budgeting to cover circuit and local financial liabilities. To receive reports on our connexional giving and District assessment.

Constitution: Circuit ministers; circuit stewards /treasurer; secretary; treasurer of each local church or substitute; connexional funds treasurer; auxiliary fund treasurer. The meeting may co-opt others with appropriate expertise.

MANSE TASK GROUP

Brief: To manage the manses of circuit ministers undertaking appropriate maintenance and refurbishment in consultation with the ministers.

Constitution: Circuit ministers; circuit stewards; circuit treasurer; secretary; 1 key person for each manse. The task group has the right to co-opt others with relevant expertise.

MISSION ACTION GROUP

Brief :To co-ordinate and promote the work of mission agencies across the circuit, developing awareness of issues of social justice.

NETWORK COMMITTEE

Brief: To promote the work of Network in the circuit and co-ordinate local Network groups.

Constitution: Circuit ministers; circuit stewards; president; secretary; treasurer; representatives from local Network groups.

PREACHERS' MEETING

Brief: To draw together the preachers of the circuit and fulfil Methodist Standing Orders 560 - 569.

Constitution: All circuit preachers, active and retired.

PROPERTY COMMITTEE

Brief :To co-ordinate the management of the church buildings across the circuit; to oversee building schemes, schedules, reports and all other assessments of circuit buildings in order to ensure that they are appropriately maintained.

Constitution: Circuit ministers; circuit stewards; circuit  treasurer; circuit property secretary; local church property stewards or equivalent or their substitutes. The committee has the right to co-opt others with relevant expertise.

SAFEGUARDING GROUP

Brief: To oversee the implementation of the circuit safeguarding policy and the "Safe From Harm" policy of the Methodist Church.

Constitution: Circuit ministers; circuit stewards; safeguarding co-ordinator or equivalent from each local church. The group may co-opt others with relevant expertise.

YOUTH COMMITTEE

Brief: To further work among young people across the circuit.

Constitution: Circuit ministers; circuit stewards; secretary; youth work representatives from each local church. The committee may co-opt others with relevant expertise.
